CAN YOU BELIEVE IT HAS BEEN THIRTY YEARS?

July 1976 to July 2006

The historical Kessler Brewery in Helena, Montana where Jim and Mary George built their namesake stands grandly at the edge of town.  The building is a little older and thirty years have passed, but their business is still growing stronger by the day.  The company began more than a quarter of a century ago when a young man and his wife wanted a place to call home and a business of their own.

Working day and night, Jim made a mark in the produce business and Mary was doing accounting at home and at the office.  Mary and Jim hired a quality staff that took some of the load off of their shoulders and helped the business grow.  Soon the company began delivering to Great Falls, Bozeman, White Sulfur Springs, Big Sky and surrounding areas.  The food business was a success!

NEW DIVISIONS

In the Fall of 2002 Chelsey George, their oldest daughter, came home and built a business around her wine passion.  She launched the Fine Wine Division of George’s with just a few brands and a small room in the warehouse.  That little room has grown into a statewide distributorship and even a new wine warehouse.  With the addition of Craft Beer in 2005, the George family has never looked back.

Community Focus

The Montana Community has always been a high priority for the George’s.  Product donations, financial pledges, and a helping hand are given to many communities across the entire state of Montana by the George Family.  “Wine Crush”, our annual wine tasting event, is a benefit first and foremost for Big Brothers Big Sisters of  Montana.  We’ve raised over $45,000 to help support this worthwhile cause over the past three years and the numbers just keep on climbing.  Whether you live in Billings or Kalispell George’s Distributing is a part of your community.

THIRTY YEARS LATER

Here we are in 2006 and thirty years have gone by.  George’s has made a lot of changes over the years.  More employees, trucks, divisions, delivery routes, and even more buildings, but one thing stays the same, customer service.  Business is built on relationships and we believe we have the staff to build relationships that last.  Here’s to another thirty years!
